Wolf's last Song WOLF

The wolf stalked through the woods,
The moonlight shone on her glistening pelt.
The stars danced in the night sky as she raised her head and tasted the air.
A scent……
Familiar, yet she could not place it. She howled, piercing the still air with her mournful song.

A young owl called for its mum,
whilst a brave squirrel scampered across the she-wolf's path, its bushy tail waving.
The earth felt soft beneath her paws.
Her tired, aching paws…..

The wind rippled through the she-wolf's fur, making her shiver with cold, and anticipation.
